I am absolutely delighted to present this breathtaking piece of jazz history: a 1948 Buescher Aristocrat Model 205 trumpet in stunning, near-mint condition. This rare, post-war masterpiece boasts its original, breathtaking honey gold lacquer with very few blemishes - a true time-capsule find for any serious player or collector. Built during Buescher's golden era with premium, dense brass stock, the Model 205 is highly coveted for its unique 0.448-inch bore paired with a generous 4.5-inch bell. This design gives you massive, effortless projection and a laser-focused core without much effort, while the ultra-smooth, bottom-sprung valves offer lightning-fast, snappy response. The compression and alignment on these valves is top notch. This horn was very well cared for and perhaps not played often.
The Aristocrat model is famous for its rich, smoky, and velvety tone often described as "midnight, no moon dark" making it the ultimate horn for sultry ballads and intimate jazz combos. Its incredible tonal flexibility means you can slap on a shallow mouthpiece and watch it instantly brighten up to cut right through a lead big band line.
The horn comes with the original case in excellent condition. Both latches work and still have their springs (no keys). There is slight wear on the material where the valves make contact, but otherwise the green plush is in gorgeous condition and is visually striking against the honey lacquer of the trumpet. The included mouthpiece has a few tool marks on it as if it had been stuck one point in time, but upon careful inspection there is no damage or wear to the mouthpiece receiver.
