First introduced in the 1930s, the Martin Committee cornet is renowned for its warm, rich tone and excellent craftsmanship. Although production ceased in the late 1960s, these cornets remain highly regarded by players worldwide.

This particular Martin has seen a lot of love, but still has many more years of enjoyment left to be had. I recently had the horn overhauled to fix some minor dents and cosmetic issues, so it comes with all new pads and corks and was ultrasonically cleaned. No work has been done to the bell so the horn rings like the day it was born. There is a small spot on the lead pipe which is indicative of red rot, though if taken care of properly should be of no issue.

I can’t stress enough how great this cornet sounds and performs. I guarantee that any jazz musician checking this out right now would be proud to have this one-of-a-kind diamond in the rough as part of his or her collection.
